Our Board


 

 

        The trustees that make up the Medina International Board come from a variety of disciplines. We are building a Unique Team that understands and represents the world we are trying to reach. All board members are expert in Islamic Religion and Spirituality through the teaching of Shaykh Ibrahim Niass (ra). Furthermore, our members have substantial experience in the area of of education, childcare, healthcare, business development, marketing, communications and sciences amoong others. We invite you to meet our team through the summary biographies below. 


  Oumy Mbengue - President of M.I.F

      We have here, a very particular woman. Sayyida Oumy Mbengue, also known as Shaykha Oumy or just Ya oumy for the closest ones. She serves as the Chair of the Board and is also one of the Founder of Medina International. She controls and regulates all activities of the Foundation and all board members report to her. It says: "the meaning of a proper name is the individual". The arabic term for mother is Oumm. "Ya Oumy" means "Oh My Mother". In fact, she is like the mother for all the members of the Organzation.

      She is a True Muslim, A true Tijan, a nurturer inwardly and outwardly, by giving out her wealth, her knowledge, by spreading her devotion to Allah, her Love of Allah, her love of the Prophet Muhammad Saw, her Love of Shaykh al Islam el Hadj Ibrahim Niass RA, her Love of Shaykh Al Akbar Baye Mamour Insa Diop, her love of her fellow Muslims, her love of the Human Race, and her love for all creatures.


       She is a brave woman, a very hard working woman , fluent in English, French,Wolof but also speaks Spanish and Creole. Throughout her life, she resided in Kaolack and Dakar in Senegal, Guinee Bissau, Germany, and then she relocated to New York, USA six years ago where she served as a peer supervisor for the prevention division of Harlem United, and outreached with the African community to  improve their knowledge on HIV/AIDS-to review their behavior in order to improve their health. Earlier in her life, she gained a lot of experience by being a Light and Sound Technician at the Franco-Senegalese Cultural Center of Dakar, where also she was the President of Jami’atu Muhtacimina Bihablillah. She also deloveloped her leadership skills by serving as the Permanent Secretary of the " Ministre Charge des Relations avec les Assemblees” in Dakar.


Babacar Diop- Vice President of M.I.F

        Babacar Diop also known as Imam Babacar is the Vice President of Medina International INC. He is an young teacher of Islam and its Purposes. Imam Babacar was born in Dakar, into a Tijani family. He Pursued Physics, Chemistry and Biology at an early age and became more and more interested in Religion and Spirituality. He, then became, a fervent disciple of The one whom Allah inspired all Knowledges, all Sciences at an very early age, the one whom his disciples became his books, his miracles, the famous and veneered Baye Shaykh Mamour Insa , a Shaykh Murabbi, a Shaykh of Tarbiya and Tarqiya, a True Muslim.

        Imam Babacar is actually a senior in Mechanical Engineering at The University of Cincinnati where he is an active member of the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE), the University of Cincinnati African Students Association (UCASA),  the Muslim Students Association (MSA), and also an active of The Federation Senegalaise de Kick-Boxing (FSKB).


       He worked for Sweco which is the world leader in particle separation and size reduction solution for a year and assisted engineers at Ohio Willow Wood where he gained experienced at Inventing and manufacturing quality prosthetic products for amputees. He became deeply involved with early members in helping people, fighting poverty, etc through Medina International Foundation where each member is an army of one, trying to follow the blessed footsteps of Shaykhul Akbar, Baye Mamour Insa Diop.


  Amadou Bassirou Diop- Secretary and Treasurer of M.I.F

            Amadou B Diop is presently serving as Secretary and Treasurer of Medina International Incorporated where he has been deeply involved since the establishment of the foundation. Originally from Dakar, Senegal, He was born into a Muslim family and society. However, he was introduced to the Love and Knowledge of God by Shaykh Mamour Insa Diop.

         In the pursuit of his love for Sciences, Mr. Diop earned his Bachelor of Sciences in Chemistry from Xavier University in May 2009. He is currently acquiring research and development experience at a leading pharmaceutical company. He is also a member of the American Chemical Society (ACS). Throughout his academic curriculum, Mr. Diop developed a comprehensive diversity, people and leadership skills which would further help in the development and growth of M.I.F. He has been part of many school organizations and has been helping students with disabilities in scientific disciplines. He is very dedicated and works very hard toward the improvement of the Foundation.


Birahim Ndoye- President of Organization of M.I.F

        Birahim Ndoye is currently serving as President of Organization on Medina International Foundation Board of Directors. Deeply involved in the activities of the organization, he is a fervent Muslim and Tijani disciple.  Mr. Ndoye is experienced in HVAC/R, Building Automation and Energy Management. He is a specialist from Cleveland State University School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering who credits his analytical skills, field experience and certifications to the parallel training he received with a scholarship from the UA through Cleveland Local 120 (United Association of Pipefitters and Service Technicians of the United States and Canada). He successfully underwent a nine year long joint apprenticeship program to graduate as a Journeyman, an HVAC/R Energy Service Engineer. Mr. Ndoye acquired expertise in building technologies while working for leading companies in the industry such as Coleman Spohn Corp. and Gem inc.(Rudolph Libbe companies) and being responsible for some of their accounts.
